Alhambra neighborhoods we work in
Emery Park, Lindaraxa Park, Mayfair and Orange Blossom Manor are 1920s neighborhoods; Emery Park, on the west side, opened in 1922. The Midwick Tract in the southwest corner, on the old Midwick Country Club land, filled in mostly in the late 1940s and 1950s with Ranch-style houses.
Main Street and Valley Boulevard carry traffic east to west, with Garfield Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard running north to south. Cross streets, or the nearest park such as Alhambra Park or Almansor Park, are enough to tell us where the job is.

Being a handyman in Alhambra: houses and apartments side by side
Alhambra started as a city of single-family homes. Its 2021–2029 Housing Element explains that as open land ran out, apartment buildings began replacing single-family houses in the 1960s, and today about 44 percent of the city’s housing is multi-family. The city is described as built-out, with residential uses covering 52 percent of its land.
A later city estimate puts the total at about 17,972 homes: 9,795 single-family dwellings and 8,117 multi-family dwellings. That near-even split shows up in our calls. One day is an older single-family house, the next is a second-floor apartment where the owner wants the same repair done without disturbing the neighbors.
What we do most in each:
- Single-family houses: plaster and drywall patches, doors and windows that stick, worn faucets and toilets, and ceiling fans or fixtures swapped at existing boxes.
- Apartments and condos: mounting TVs and shelves, cabinet hinges and drawer slides, caulk around tubs and sinks, and move-out patch-and-paint for owners and landlords.
- Both: small lists of odd jobs grouped together with one upfront price.
We stay with repairs and swaps on what is already in the home. If something needs new wiring, new plumbing runs or a wall change, we tell you in the first reply and suggest the right trade. Send a photo by text and we will come back with a price.
