In Alhambra homes
About 77 percent of Alhambra’s homes were built before 1980, according to a city housing report. Older bungalows often have narrow hinged closet doors, while later updates added bifolds and mirrored sliders whose plastic parts wear out. We check which kind you have and match the hardware to it.

Send a short video of the door moving, plus photos of the top track and the floor guide. Our number for photos is (310) 628-9399, and the price comes back before any work is booked.
Bifold doors
The top guide pin and the bottom pivot carry the panel. When either one loosens, the door leans and jumps the track. New pivots and a reset bracket fix most bifolds.
Bypass and mirrored sliders
Flat rollers and a dented track make sliders drag. Mirrored doors are heavy, so we lift them with care and add anti-jump clips.

Pocket doors
Hangers inside the wall can often be reached through the opening. If the track is broken, we explain the options before any wall is opened.
Doors that drag after new floors
Raised flooring catches the bottom of the door. We adjust first and trim the door only if needed.
What goes to others
A closet header that sagged or an opening that is out of square is carpentry. New built-in closet systems go to a closet company.
In older Alhambra houses this job often turns up next to pocket door repair, closet organizer installation, door repair and adjustment, cabinet and hardware repair and sliding glass door repair, so mention those when you text and we can price them together.

Closet door repair questions from Alhambra homeowners
Can you fix a bifold door that keeps coming off its track?
Yes. Usually the top pivot or guide has worn and gets replaced.
Why does my bifold closet door keep coming off the track?
A loose top guide pin or a slipped bottom pivot. Replacing or resetting them keeps the door in the track.
Can you fix a pocket door that won’t slide?
Usually, by reaching the hangers through the opening. If the hidden track is broken, we tell you first.

How much does closet door repair cost?
It depends on the door and parts. Send a short video for a free estimate before anything is booked.
