What we do
- Worn weatherstripping replaced on exterior doors
- Door sweeps and door bottoms fitted to the gap
- Adjustable thresholds raised or lowered to meet the sweep
- French doors sealed at the meeting edge and the top and bottom bolts
- Garage-entry doors sealed against fumes, dust and drafts
- Latches and strikes adjusted so the door closes against the new seal
In Alhambra homes
Many front doors in Alhambra’s 1920s Spanish Revival and Craftsman homes are original solid wood, and a lot of them were never fitted with modern seals. Some have a strip of old felt or a nailed-on bronze strip worn flat decades ago. We fit seals that suit the door and leave the wood and hardware as they are.

Send a photo of the closed door from inside with the lights off, so we can see where daylight comes through, plus a close-up of the bottom edge. Our number for photos is (626) 684-3505, and the price comes back before any work is booked.
Why it matters here
Santa Ana winds push fine dust under any door with a gap, and summer heat gets in the same way. A sealed door also helps keep out ants and other bugs that find their way in under a gap.
Alignment comes first
A door that sags or rubs will tear up new weatherstripping within weeks. We check the hinges and the latch first and tighten or shim them so the door closes evenly, then fit the seal.
When the problem is the frame
If the threshold is rotted or the frame is split, a new seal will not hold. We will show you what we found and talk through the next step before any work starts.
