What’s included
- Video doorbells connected to existing doorbell wiring
- Corner and wedge kits so the camera sees the path, not the wall
- Silent or sticky buttons replaced
- Chimes replaced or fitted with the adapter a video model needs
- Weak doorbell transformers replaced in place
- Battery doorbells for doors with no bell wire, including many condos
What we don’t do
- Adding circuits, upgrading the panel or swapping breakers; those are outside our scope.
- Running wire to a new location in a wall or ceiling.
- Mounting anything heavier than its box is rated to carry.
In Alhambra homes
About 77 percent of Alhambra’s homes were built before 1980, according to a city housing report. In houses that old, the doorbell transformer is often original, hidden near the panel, in the garage or in an attic, and it was sized for a simple chime. Video doorbells draw more power, so an old transformer is the usual reason a new camera drops offline or reboots.

Send photos of the doorbell button, the chime, the doorbell model you picked, and say whether it is a house or a condo. Our number for photos is (310) 628-9399, and the price comes back before any work is booked.
Houses and condos
In a single-family house, the bell wire usually runs from the button to a chime in the hall and a transformer elsewhere. In condos and apartments, the entry may have no bell wire, or a building intercom we leave alone. Battery doorbells suit those doors and mount without touching building wiring.
Finding the transformer
We follow the wire or test at the chime to locate the transformer. Once found, we read its output and compare it with what your doorbell maker asks for.
Mounting on stucco and wood
On stucco we drill with a masonry bit, use anchors and seal behind the plate. On wood trim we pre-drill to keep the trim from splitting.
Setting up the app
We connect the doorbell to your Wi-Fi, check the signal at the door, set motion zones so sidewalk traffic does not trigger alerts, and show you how to share access with family.
Chimes worth keeping
Some older chimes have a sound people like. Many video doorbells can still ring them with an adapter; we tell you if yours can.
Privacy and neighbors
We aim the camera at your own entry and path. Motion zones can exclude a neighbor’s door or window.
Wi-Fi at the door
A weak signal at the entry causes lag and missed alerts. Check bars on your phone at the door before the visit; an extender near the entry often fixes it.
Where our part ends
New bell wire through finished walls, or a transformer that needs a new connection at the panel, is outside our scope.
Angle kits on side paths
Alhambra lots often put the front door at an angle to the sidewalk. A corner or wedge kit points the camera at the approach instead of a stucco wall.
Condos without bell wire
Many Alhambra condominiums have an intercom or no doorbell wire at all. A battery doorbell with a plug-in chime covers those entries without touching building wiring.
Sharing access
We show you how to invite a family member or property manager in the app, and how to remove access later.
In older Alhambra houses this job often turns up next to peephole installation, lock and smart lock installation, outdoor and motion lighting, smoke detector and CO alarm installation and door repair and adjustment, so mention those when you text and we can price them together.

Doorbell and video doorbell installation questions from Alhambra homeowners
Why does my doorbell not work?
A dead transformer, a broken button or a loose wire at the chime. We test each one with a meter before replacing anything.
Can a handyman install a video doorbell?
Yes, on the existing doorbell wiring, or as a battery model where no wire exists.

Why does my doorbell camera keep going offline?
Weak Wi-Fi at the front door or low power from an old transformer. A mesh point near the door or a new transformer usually fixes it.
