In Alhambra homes
Stucco is the most common exterior on Alhambra’s Spanish Revival and postwar homes, and with about 77 percent of houses built before 1980 per a city housing report, many walls have had decades of fixtures added and removed. Older stucco can be a hard three-coat system, so we cut the patch edges clean and build it back up in layers instead of smearing filler on top.

Send a close photo with a coin for scale, and a wider photo showing the wall’s texture. Our number for photos is (310) 628-9399, and the price comes back before any work is booked.
Small jobs only
We patch holes and cracks up to a few square feet. Re-stuccoing a wall, fixing stucco that is bulging or delaminated, or anything tied to a leak behind the wall goes to a plastering contractor.
Why texture matters
A smooth patch on a sand finish wall shows from the street. We match the texture with a float, sponge or trowel and blend the edges.

Cracks
Hairline cracks are common and usually cosmetic. Cracks wider than a pencil line or ones that keep growing may be from movement and are worth having looked at.
Color
Fresh patch material is lighter than weathered stucco. Painting the whole panel to a natural break hides the patch best.
Curing
Patching material needs time to cure before paint. We tell you how long to wait, or come back to paint.
In older Alhambra houses this job often turns up next to paint touch-ups, hose bib and shutoff valve replacement, drywall repair and mailbox installation, so mention those when you text and we can price them together.

Stucco patch repair questions from Alhambra homeowners
Can you fix a hole in stucco from an old light or dish?
Yes, that is one of the most common jobs. We fill it in coats and match the texture.
Why do stucco patches show?
Texture and color differ. We match texture by hand and suggest painting to a break line.

How much does stucco patch repair cost?
It depends on size and texture. Send a photo for a free estimate before anything is booked.
